On our first day at Madagascar, we went to a place called Anja which was about 4 hours away from the facility we were staying at. On the way to Anja we stopped at a road side market, and there was a large variation of animals and other items. After that, about 2 hours of driving later, we stopped at a city. We went to a paper factory and a weavers group that was in the city. When we arrived at Anja we started a hike into a forest that surrounded huge rock face mountains. As soon as we got 20 feet into the trail, ring tailed lemurs surrounded us. They would hang and sit above us in the trees. As we continued our hike we started to climb the mountains. The views at the top of the mountain were amazing. Then we proceeded to move down the mountain to begin our 4 hour bus ride back to the facility.
